The sun seems set to shine on the weekend's major entertainment and sporting events, which will bring throngs of people to the capital on Saturday and Sunday.

Manchester's rock export Oasis play at Marlay Park in Dublin tomorrow evening and Anastacia will have the audience dancing in the park on Sunday.

Dublin Bus is running special bus services to each concert. The service will run from Burgh Quay with the first bus departing at 3pm. Buses will run every 20 minutes until 6pm and the trip will cost €6. Tickets can be bought from the Ticket Bus on Burgh Quay before boarding.

The big event in the sporting calendar this weekend is the Dublin v Laois clash in the Leinster Senior Football Final at Croke Park on Sunday. Throw in is at 3.45 and the traffic will be very busy around Drumcondra before and after the match.

Traffic diversions are in place around nearby East Wall Road from July 11 thfor four weeks to allow upgrading of a junction for completion of the port tunnel.

There will be no entry onto Alexandra Road from East Wall Road. All port bound traffic must turn right at Tolka Quay Road instead. Traffic heading towards Alfie Byrne Road will be maintained as usual, according to Dublin City Council.

All traffic, except HGVs, heading for the East Link bridge or North Wall Quay should turn right onto East Road and follow the diversion signs. No right turn will be permitted onto the southbound section of East Wall Road. All port-bound traffic may continue into port along Tolka Quay Road.

North city bound traffic from the port must exit the port via Tolka Quay Road.

Also in Dublin, traffic will be prevented from entering Kilshane Road at Kilshane Cross until July 22 ndto allow work on the realignment of the road where it joins the new N2 Finglas-Ashbourne bypass. The M50/N3 Navan Road and the N2/Ward Cross roads may be used as alternative routes for traffic to Blanchardstown, Mulhuddart and Castlenock.Traffic may also be busy in Dublin city centre on Sunday, when Play Day 2005 takes place.

The initiative encourages children to participate in fun activities at Dublin's public squares.The Munster Fleadh Cheoil will take place tomorrow and Sunday in Macroom, Co Cork. A one-way system will be in operation on the N22 in the town from 10am to 6pm on both days. Macroom mart also takes place tomorrow, so there will be some traffic restrictions in the town.

Met Eireann says it will be mostly dry on Saturday with some good sunshine likely in the east and the south. Sunday will also be mostly dry, with bright or sunny spells, but patches of drizzle or fog may persist in some coastal areas. However, rain and drizzle will become widespread on Sunday evening.
