One Cool Cat falls short at Haydock Park

Tante Rose came from the clouds to win the Stanleybet Sprint Cup in a dramatic finish at Haydock Park this afternoon.  Roger Charlton's charge, who was landing her third race of the campaign, came with a telling late run to defeat last year's hero Somnus in a photo-finish.

The 10-1 winner flew through the pack in the final furlong to score by a short head, with her stable companion Patavellian three-quarters of a length back in third.

The Aidan O'Brien trained One Cool Cat was sent off the heavily backed 6-4 favourite but never landed a blow and failed to quicken when push came to shove.
