A Palestinian who was throwing a firebomb on a West Bank bypass road was shot by soldiers this evening, and Israeli media reported he died of his wounds.

The incident occurred near the village of Husan, next to Bethlehem, the officials said.

The firebomb damaged a car, they said, and soldiers opened fire.

The Y-net website of the Yediot Ahronot daily said the Palestinian was killed, but this could not be confirmed.
