The family of Seán Nolan (18), who was stabbed to death in Ballsbridge in Dublin in the early hours of last Saturday, have appealed for privacy to come to terms with their loss.
Mr Nolan, from Griffith Court, Fairview, was stabbed several times in the chest on Waterloo Road at about 4am. A 17-year-old youth was arrested a short time later on Waterloo Road and has been charged in relation to the fatal stabbing.
He appeared in Dublin District Court on Saturday night and has been remanded on bail charged with assault causing harm.
In a statement issued by the Garda yesterday, the family asked for privacy to grieve.
"The Nolan family are devastated at the loss of their beloved son Seán, who died in the early hours of Saturday morning the 26th May. We are trying to come to terms with the loss of our son and would ask the media to respect our privacy and give us space to grieve."
