A man in his early 70s has died after being knocked down by a car in Co Clare last night.
The crash took place at Setrights Cross, Portdrine, Co Clare at around 8.00pm.
The victim was understood to have been crossing the N18 from Limerick when he was hit by a car. His body was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital.
The road was closed for an examination of the scene by Garda collision investigators. It has now reopened.
