Gardaí are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Co Kildare.

Gardaí are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Co Kildare.

The incident occurred at about 12.30am today on the Naas to Clane Road at Sallins village.

The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was seriously injured in the incident and died at Naas General Hospital.

The road has been sealed off today pending a technical examination by a Garda forensic team.

Gardaí have appealed to the driver of a white van seen in the Sallins Village area around the time of the incident to contact them on (045) 884300 or to call the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.
