A Dublin man found with £45,000 worth of cannabis may be facing 10 years' imprisonment under new anti-drugs legislation. Declan Sullivan (29), of Portland Square, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to having 5 kg of the drug in the attic of his flat. Judge Yvonne Murphy said she would consider sentence on January 15th.

He is charged under the 1999 Criminal Justice Act which provides a mandatory 10-year sentence for anyone with more than £10,000 worth of drugs with intent to supply.
