Green Party leader Eamon Ryan says that the Dáil reform report, which will be finalised within two to three weeks, should help in the formation of the new government.

"It allows a more flexible approach," he told Newstalk Breakfast.

A number of recommendations have already been made by the Oireachtas all party group, including fixed voting times and speaking changes that will see Opposition TDs have more time.

Another proposal is a new budgetary committee which will put responsibility on parliament to decide how money will be raised, how it will be spent and will look at the outcome of that spending, said Mr Ryan.
