The chairman of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee wants Rehab to comply within a fortnight with its request for a further swathe of information on pensions and bonus payments to senior executives.
After a seven-hour hearing on Thursday left a number of key questions outstanding, Fianna Fáil TD John McGuinness said the committee members were prepared to call Rehab back for another hearing if it failed to hand over the information sought.
“I’m not saying that in a threatening way. It’s a factual thing. If they do not provide the information, then the committee will want to see them again,” said Mr McGuinness.
A Rehab spokesman said that “the queries will be dealt with very promptly”.
Included in the data sought by the PAC are details of the pension entitlements of former chief executive and current board director Frank Flannery, who is a senior Fine Gael strategist.
This question was raised at the hearing on Thursday by Sinn Féin TD Mary Lou McDonald but Rehab’s chief executive Angela Kerins said no information about Mr Flannery’s pension was available to her.
The committee also wants details about previous salary and bonus payments to Ms Kerins, whose current annual pay is €240,000. She receives a further €14,400 in payments to her defined contribution pension scheme and the benefit of her company car is worth €18,000.
