The results of a post mortem examination carried out on the body of man found dead in a house in Cork yesterday have proved inconclusive.
Gardaí investigating the case are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
The body of the 36-year-old Polish man was found in the house he shared with five other Polish nationals at Fairfield road in Farranree in the city. The man is believed to have suffered head injuries.
He has been named locally as Mr Dariusz Piotrataszewski who arrived in Ireland two weeks ago. It is understood he was married with children in Poland and had just obtained a work permit.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau arrived to carry out a forensic examination of the scene yesterday evening.
A preliminary examination of the body was carried out in the house by the assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster before being removed to Cork University Hospital for the post mortem.
