On foot of an intelligence-led investigation, members of the Garda National Drugs Unit assisted by members of the Tallaght Detective Unit stopped a van on the Blessington Road today at 2.15pm.

A search of the vehicle revealed 20,000 Dalmane tablets and 180,000 Zopiclone tablets with an estimated total street value of €440,000, subject to analysis, a Garda statement said.

A 42-year-old Dublin man is being detained at Tallaght Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
