Private patients provide a significant element of health levy funding for public healthcare in the Republic, an issue not addressed in this week's ESRI report, according to the VHI. Its subscribers contributed more than half of the £490 million which will be generated through the 2 per cent levy tax this year, VHI Healthcare said yesterday.
