Gardai are investigating a robbery at a Co Meath pub in which raiders armed with knives forced their way in as the premises were being locked for the night.
A "large amount of cash" was taken in the raid at the Warrenstown Arms in Drumree, on the main Dublin-Trim road, a Garda spokesman said. At least three and possibly four men were involved in the raid, which happened at 1.25 a.m. yesterday.
They made off in the direction of Dublin in two cars. One of the cars, a wine-coloured Peugeot belonging to the owner of the pub, was found burned out in Kilcock, Co Kildare. No one was injured.
