Residents on the route of a proposed quality bus corridor in south Dublin have said they will continue to fight to stop its development.
The Dundrum to Blackrock orbital quality bus corridor (QBC) is designed to pass up Foster's Avenue and Mount Merrion Avenue and would involve the removal of mature trees and grass verges.
Consultation began in 2004 and locals launched an extensive campaign. They said felling trees would destroy the area's character and ambience. They also insisted that the QBC was unnecessary.
The Quality Bus Network office said last week they had been in negotiation with residents along the route and a compromise plan would be brought forward to local councillors.
However, residents say they have not been in discussion with the council or the QBN office since November 2004.
