New Delhi - The prime ministerial hopes of the opposition leader, Ms Sonia Gandhi, suffered a jolt yesterday with an unprecedented revolt within her Congress party over her Italian origins.
Three Congress leaders demanded the Indian constitution be amended to reserve the posts of president, vice-president and prime minister of the world's largest democracy for "natural-born Indian citizens".
