RTE was criticised by the leader of the House, Mr Donie Cassidy, for being "negative" in its Budget coverage.
Mr Cassidy said the positive measures announced by Mr McCreevy were to be welcomed. "The views expressed on the 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. news programmes on RTE were astonishing . . . I could not believe what I was hearing.
