Russian emergency officials dismissed today a report that a Russian passenger aircraft had been hijacked from Moscow to Perm in the Urals.

"The information of the hijacking has turned out to be untrue," a spokesman for the Emergencies Ministry said by telephone.

Itar-Tass news agency had earlier reported that the AN-24 passenger plane had been commandeered during the flight.
