Ryanair has been ordered to pay the former champion swimmer, Mr Donnacha O'Dea, £800 compensation for the loss of personal belongings in a suitcase that went missing on a London-Dublin flight last year.

Ms Julie Liston, counsel for Mr O'Dea, of Albert House, Victoria Road, Dalkey, told the District Court yesterday her client had been told his luggage had been recovered but the suitcase was found to belong to someone else.
