Thousands of images from the American space agency Nasa's Apollo space missions have been published online for public viewing.
The Project Apollo Archive was created by Kipp Teague in February 1999 and now contains more than 10,000 images from the Apollo missions 7 to 17.
It includes images from the July 1969 Apollo 11 mission, when the late Neil Armstrong made his celebrated “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” by becoming the first human being to walk on the moon.
He was the commander of the US Apollo 11 spacecraft, in which he was accompanied by Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, the pilot of the Eagle lunar landing module, and Michael Collins, pilot of the Columbia command module.
