The Garda helicopter is being used in a search for a woman who has been missing in Galway since she was last seen on the River Corrib on Saturday afternoon.
Gardaí in Galway city are appealing to people using boats on the river or those walking along its banks to help in the search for the woman. When last seen she was wearing swimming gear. It is understood that she entered the water close to Menlo Castle on the outskirts of the city.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was with a group of friends. When she did not rejoin them later on Saturday evening they became concerned.
The woman had still not returned by lunchtime yesterday and her friends contacted the Garda in an attempt to locate her.
People who were boating on the Corrib as well as those who were fishing or walking along the banks of the river were requested to help with the search.
