A search operation is due to resume this morning for a diver missing off the southwest coast while diving on the wreck of a liner sunk during the first World War.

The German man in his 50s was one of three diving 90m (295ft) to the wreck of the SS Minnehaha which was torpedoed off Cape Clear by a German U-boat in 1917.

The man was diving from the boat Holly Jo, out of Castletownshend, when he failed to resurface with his two companions.
