Many people woke up to a rare white Christmas this morning after snow showers in Ulster, Connacht and parts of Munster.
A severe weather warning has been issued by Met Éireann for today as the snow combines with freezing temperatures to create dangerous driving conditions.
Motorists have been advised by the AA not to make any unnecessary journeys, particularly on back roads and sheltered areas.
