London - More than a thousand of Britain's most dangerous sex offenders are missing from the register created to track their movements, police chiefs said yesterday. Figures show 1,159 of the 4,524 offenders required to register with their local police station still have not signed up. Some are in jail, but 400 to 500 others are thought to have "gone to ground".
