Racing: Siege Of Ennis opened his account as he scooted in under Andrew McNamara in the Frank Conroy Memorial Maiden Hurdle at Leopardstown.

Eddie Harty's 8-1 chance kicked clear approaching the final flight to see off Emotional Melody by a cosy four lengths and earn a 25-1 quote with Coral for the Triumph Hurdle.

Harty said: "I was very pleased with that as he is a four-year-old taking on the older horses. I was half reluctant to run him but I love Leopardstown and he was getting almost a stone from them, so I thought he had a good each-way chance.

"I will stick him in the Triumph and see what the next month brings."

Siege Of Ennis will be Harty's second runner at the Festival with JP McManus' Captain Cee Bee set to represent him in the opening Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

He added: "Captain Cee Bee will run at Punchestown next week. If it is not bottomless he will take his chance. He won't be fully wound up but it should put him right for Cheltenham."

Pomme Tiepy then landed a hat-trick when proving too strong for her rivals in the Woodlands Park Novice Chase.

Trained by Willie Mullins, the five-year-old disputed the lead and extended into a clear advantage before jumping the penultimate fence.

The mount of Ruby Walsh, sent off the 11-10 favourite, went on to pop the last and survived a little peck on landing before drawing four lengths clear of 16-1 shot Kilcrea Castle.
