Leaders of SIPTU from North and South have called on workers to support the Belfast Agreement on the basis that it is "the only way to ensure our collective social and economic well-being for the future".
The call was made by regional executive committees in the North and in southern Border counties, who jointly represent more than 20,000 members. "Trade unions, as worker organisations, have led the way in promoting peace and reconciliation in the workplace and demonstrated consistently that there is another way, other than violence," said regional secretary Mr George Hunter.
