A man who claims he contracted a rare disease from smoking began a compensation claim against the Irish tobacco company Gallagher Ltd in the High Court in Belfast yesterday.
Mr John Dean (41), from Ballywalter, Co Down, says he contracted Buerger's disease, which caused a blockage of his veins and arteries and forced him to give up his job.
