Michael ╙ Conghaile was born in Connemara in 1962. He set up the Irish publishing house Cl≤ Iar-Chonnachta in 1985. His published works include Mac an tSagairt, Conamara agus ┴rainn 1800-1900 and An Fear a PhlΘasc. Sna Fir is his first novel. He is currently the Irish language writer-in-residence at Queen's University Belfast and the University of Ulster at Coleraine.
