Thousands of people experiencing delays in receiving illness and disability payments in their bank accounts are being advised they will arrive on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.
A total of 73,600 people were left without the payment on Wednesday following a technical error in the Department of Social Protection.
A spokeswoman said the problem had been resolved and its cause was now the subject of an internal investigation.
Recipients with accounts at Bank of Ireland and AIB, totalling 53,000, will have their money lodged by Wednesday afternoon. Others will receive it by Thursday morning.
The department has not been receiving a high level of concerns or complaints from those experiencing the delays but did move to address the issue immediately on Wednesday. .
In a statement, it said Ulster Bank is helping its customers through its emergency cash access for those who attend a branch in person with identification.
Permanent TSB customers are advised to contact their branch to seek assistance.
The Department said it apologised for inconvenience.
