Madrid - Spain wants to pack the same political punch as the four EU heavyweights, the country's Foreign Minister has said.
Addressing colleagues, Mr Josep Pique said he wanted Spain to become one of the five large countries at the heart of the EU, as of December at the European summit in Nice. Spain currently holds eight votes in the Council of Ministers, while Germany, France, Britain and Italy have 10.
