The All-Star midfielder went over on his ankle in a trial game last week but, despite chipping a bone, was given every chance of making Sunday's game.

However, management have finally ruled him out and his place in the side goes to Eoin Brosnan.

Corner back Michael McCarthy will captain the side as there are no representatives of county champions, Kerins O'Rahilly's, in the starting XV.
