Racing:Champion Hurdle outsider Sublimity made the perfect return to action when registering an emphatic success in the Navan Golf Club Open For Membership Hurdle at the Irish venue.

John Carr's seven-year-old had been off the track for 277 days since finishing fourth behind Iktitaf at the Punchestown Festival in April.

He had previously occupied the same position behind Noland at Cheltenham in March and was unsurprisingly sent off the 1-3 favourite here.

Supporters of the entire never had an anxious moment as Philip Carberry rode a supremely confident race aboard the seven-year-old, settling him just off the early pace set by stablemate Alamiyan.

He was still hard on the steel as the field swung into the straight to face the final three hurdles and was moving with such intent that Carberry let him freewheel to the lead after the penultimate flight.

Having jumped the last well, Carberry finally let out an inch of rein and Sublimity shot clear to repel  16-1 shot Sulla by a long-looking 20 lengths.
