Nairobi - Sudan's government has banned aid flights to its Bahr el-Ghazal province, a day after an operation started to help up to 150,000 people displaced by fighting, the UN food agency said yesterday. The government refused permission for the UN Operation, Lifeline Sudan (OLS), to fly to the province, where rebels have been fighting government forces in the south's second city Wau and other towns for a week.
