Army bomb experts have made safe a suspect device at the house of an SDLP councillor in Warrenpoint, Co Down.
Mr Michael Carr, a member of the district policing partnership in Co Down, became suspicious when he found a suspect package in his morning mail yesterday.
A PSNI spokesman said the contents of the package were "a crude but viable device".
