Talks will take place at the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) tomorrow in an effort to resolve the dispute at Bus Éireann over pay for part-time school bus drivers.

Strike action was deferred for a week last Friday after progress was made in talks at the LRC the previous day.

The two sides met again with the LRC yesterday and will resume discussions in the morning.

Siptu is seeking parity for its part-time school bus drivers with fulltime drivers at Bus Éireann.

At present part-time drivers earn €11.66 per hour, compared with €13.15 to €15.23 an hour for full time drivers. The part-time drivers also want access to pensions, sick pay, overtime rates and other benefits enjoyed by Bus Éireann employees.
