The 19 deaths which have occurred on farms so far this year could have been avoided if safety precautions had been carried out, according to Fianna Fail TD Mr Seamus Kirk. He said children should know which areas were safe to play in, signs should be erected alerting people to machinery and dangerous chemicals, and animals should only be approached by an experienced handler.
