Vienna - The Austrian government yesterday approved a package of measures to crack down on the financing of terrorism.

Chancellor Wolfgang Schⁿssel said the legislation would create new criminal offences of "preparing and intentionally financing the preparation of terrorist crimes" and of membership of a terrorist group.
