Thousands of Syrian troops are leaving Lebanon under a two-phased pullout plan, the Lebanese defence minister said today.
"The first stage of the [Syrian military] redeployment could involve 6,000-7,000 troops out of 14,000," Defence Minister Abdul Rahim Mrad said.
"Most of those withdrawing are going to Syrian territory."
