Three men have been arrested after cocaine worth an estimated €50,000 was found in Co Kildare.
The men - two aged 19 and the other 20 - were arrested in Co Kildare after a surveillance operation lasting several weeks.
They were suspected of picking up a stash of cocaine which had been hidden in a ditch at a roadside in the townland of Thomastown in Rathangan.
Gardaí watching them moved in shortly after they arrived at the scene yesterday at around 6.40pm in a Mitsubishi Lancer car.
The car is being examined by forensic experts from the Garda Technical Bureau.
The cocaine has also been sent for examination.
The men are being detained under section two of the Drug Trafficking Act. They are being questioned at Newbridge Garda station where they can be held for up to seven days.
