Three people have died in separate road accidents in Wexford, Meath and Dublin today.
A 15-year-old girl who was walking along Ryland Road in Bunclody, Co Wexford was killed when she was struck by a car at 3.15am. She has been named as Kathy Byrne of Tullow Hill, Tullow, Carlow.
Another girl was also hit by the car and taken to hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
A Garda spokesman said the driver of the car, a man in his early 20s, was arrested near the scene and taken to Gorey Garda Station where he was later charged with drink driving.
In Co Meath, the 19-year-old man who was killed when his car crashed at Drumbarragh, Kells shortly after 3am has been named as Colm Cooper of Drumbarragh.
His body was removed to Navan General Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.
In Dublin, two men in their 20s were taken to Beaumount Hospital after their car struck a wall at Skerries Road in Rush at 12.45am.
The passenger in the car, who is understood to have been a Polish national, later died and the driver remains in a serious condition.
