Three people questioned by gardaí following the killing of 26-year-old Paul Kelly in Clontarf, Dublin, on Friday night were yesterday released without charge.
Mr Kelly, a father of two from Gardiner Street in the north inner city, was shot six times as he opened the door of a family member's apartment at about 11.45pm at Windsor Ville Apartments, Charlemont Road, Clontarf.
Officers are investigating the possibility that his death is linked to a dispute between a number of people in Dublin's north inner city.
A Garda spokesman said the two men and a woman, who were being held at Raheny and Clontarf Garda stations, were released without charge shortly before lunchtime yesterday.
Two other men, aged 19 and 25, were also released without charge on Sunday. A file in relation to these two men is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Separately, gardaí investigating the stabbing of a 20-year-old man at Snowdrop Walk, Darndale, in the early hours of Sunday morning have also released a man they had detained for questioning.
The injured man was removed to Beaumont Hospital, but his wounds are not considered life-threatening.
According to a Garda spokesman, officers received a call regarding a disturbance in the area at approximately 12.10am.
"On arrival they found a 20-year-old man in a house with a number of stab wounds," he said.
A 24-year-old man who was arrested nearby and detained at Coolock Garda station was released yesterday, the spokesman said.
