Around 300 commuters were forced off a Luas tram yesterday after it was involved in a collision with a car on Dublin's Harcourt Street. It was the first accident involving the new light-rail system.
The Rail Procurement Agency, which is responsible for implementing Luas, said the accident was a minor one and no injuries had been sustained.
The Luas was travelling northwards at around 11.30 a.m. when a motorist attempted to turn right onto Clonmel Street from Harcourt Street.
The car collided with the front carriage, breaking an indicator on the Luas and the wing mirror on the car.
