Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O'Donoghue yesterday paid tribute to author Clare Boylan who died earlier this week. He said her passing was a great loss to the arts in Ireland and she would be sadly missed.

He described Ms Boylan as an award-winning author, journalist and critic who had won many accolades for her highly-acclaimed work.

The Arts Council yesterday also expressed its regret at the death of Ms Boylan, who was a member of Aosdána.

Removal takes place this evening from Our Lady's Hospice Chapel, to St Fergal's Church, Killarney Road, Bray, arriving at 5.30pm. The funeral will take place on Friday after 10am Mass to Mount Jerome Crematorium.
