Sean Tully (34), from Ballinasloe, was the driver of one of the cars involved in a head-on collision near Moylough at around 3.50 a.m.

The driver of the other car, who is in his 20s, suffered facial injuries and has been admitted to University College Hospital in Galway city.

Eighteen-year-old Marie Walsh from Kilmacthomas died in a car accident in Co Waterford at 4.30 a.m.
