Two men have died after a crash between two cars and a lorry in Co Cork this morning.

The crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. on the Cork-to-Mallow road at Ballygibbon near Blarney. A car and a lorry collided, and the lorry then collided with another car. Two men in the first car, believed to be in their twenties, died. There were no other serious injuries.

Last night, a male motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a lorry in Co Wexford. The crash happened at Dunmain Campile yesterday at 8.30 p.m. The dead man was named as Thomas Ryan (28) of Kilscanlan, Foulksmills.

Elsewhere, the second victim of the fatal crash at Ballinamesseda, Co Wicklow, on Saturday has been named as Christian Lee (23) of Rathvilly, Co Carlow.

On Saturday Mr Lee and John Cunningham (34) from Tallaght hit a parked bus in Ballinamesseda after Cunningham had escaped from Shelton Abbey open prison on a motorcycle.

The fatal accident happened just 45 minutes later after prison authorities discovered Cunningham had absconded.

Elsewhere, seven people are being treated in hospital today following a road crash in Co Donegal yesterday.

The crash happened on the Milford-to-Carrigart Road when two cars collided at 2.30 p.m. Six people are being treated in Letterkenny Hospital while the seventh has been transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. The injured are believed to be from Derry and Omagh, Co Tyrone.
