Gardaí have arrested two men after a failed attempted robbery at a west Dublin pub this morning.
Staff at the pub in Chapelizod were held up by two men armed with a gun and a knife.
A member of the public raised the alarm and Gardaí subsequently arrested the men.
Earlier, two raiders escaped with an undisclosed sum of money from an Allied Irish Bank in Co Cork.
The men, one armed with a gun, entered the branch near Bandon at about 10 a.m. and demanded money.
No shots were fired and no one was injured. The men fled on a motorbike that was later found at Knockavilla, near Bandon.
And in Limerick, two men armed with handguns, robbed a shop a Mace shop on Kileely Road.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken. They are believed to have escaped in a stolen silver car.
