Two men are still being questioned by the Gardaí in connection with yesterday's discovery of mortar bombs and rockets in Co Kildare.
The firearms, mortar bombs and mortar launching rockets were found near the Kildare-Laois border during an investigation into dissident republican activities.
The operation involved local gardaí, the Emergency Response Unit and the Special Detective Unit.
Gardaí detained the two men under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. Their period of detention was extended last night.
The move marked the latest swoop aimed at hardline republicans linked to two paramilitary groups: the Real IRA and the Continuity IRA.
