Two women were killed in road traffic accidents in Co Mayo and Co Cork early this morning.
A 57-year-old woman was fatally injured when the car she was driving hit a wall near Drimoleague near Bantry shortly after 7.30 a.m. Gardai in Bantry in Cork are investigating.
And in Mayo a 27-year-old woman died after her car reportedly overturned after hitting a wall near the village of Straide shortly after 2am.
The woman - who was the sole occupant of the car - was brought to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar but died a short time later.
She has not yet been named.
