Tyrone hardware store fire investigated
Detectives were today investigating a fire which broke out in a hardware store in Tyrone.
The fire caused substantial damage to the shop in the Dock Street area of Strabane. Police were notified about the blaze by a man who spotted smoke coming from the building.
Several fire brigade units arrived at 2am to tackle the fire, which had spread to a number of outhouses.
The fire was brought under control but was still smouldering today. The PSNI said they were keen to talk to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in Dock Street area.
"The Dock Street area will remain closed until further notice," said a spokeswoman.
