UN climate talks in Nairobi have delayed a decision on whether to include carbon capture and storage under a Kyoto carbon trading framework, the head of the UN's climate body said.
"The decision taken is to look at the issue further," Yvo de Boer said today. "We've not decided yet whether to include it in CDM [Clean Development Mechanism]."
The technology on whether buried carbon dioxide stays underground and who is liable if it leaks were the main sticking points, he added.
