Work on a £200 million development at the Pfizer pharmaceutical plant in Cork Harbour came to a halt yesterday when 200 construction workers refused to pass pickets in an unofficial dispute.

The dispute, involving 120 production operatives, began on Wednesday when two workers were suspended after they had refused to use new machinery.
